Hemsby Holiday

We have just had a lovely week's holiday with my mum and dad and my sister Nikki and her girls.

The children found it very exciting to have each other next door and to pop round each other's bedrooms!

Of course the amusements were a massive hit! They loved climbing on all the ride ons - and they even got to put some money in a few!

Although the weather wasn't great the beach was beautiful and it was dry enough for sandcastles to be made and children to buried in the sand (as well as lost crocs!). They even had a paddle! Dad put a bag over his broken foot so he didn't get it sandy and there was enough of a walk way onto the sand that he could get a little way on to the beach.

There were lots of kids activities at the camp. One day we went on a pirate treasure hunt where they searched for maps and made pirate eye patches and then finally found a chest of sweets!

Lottie and Joplin loved the games in the evening and both were very proud to win a certificate for winning a game. They all absolutely loved the mascots Elle the Elephant and Richie the monkey and were really chuffed to have their photo taken with Elle.

The camp had a pool too and all of the children loved having a swim. Eden was actually the bravest I have seen him in the water and jumped in and swam holding my hands for a while instead of just clinging to my back as he usually does.

We went out to dinner at a nice pub with a lovely play area pirate ship one lunchtime. Really nice food and the children were kept busy and happy.

There was an awesome slide at the funfair. It was ride as many times as you like once you had paid and Lottie and Joplin made the most of it. I was quite impressed how brave they were as it was very big. (I was dying to have a go!)

Eden and Heidi (and Fireman Sam and Mutsy) amused themselves by playing on the tecups (without moving otherwise Eden would have been off in a shot I'm sure!)

The drive yourself cars were loved and Joplin cut everyone up on the corners!

Although we couldn't stay for the children's talent I was so proud when Joplin and Lottie did the rehearsal and sang into the microphones. Joplin sang 'I bought my girl an apple' (Bonzo doo da dog band!) and Lottie sang Frere Jaques in French and English.

The nicest part of the holiday really was just being together as a family. The children loved having the opportunity to play together and really bonded and it was great to spend time with Nikki and Mum and Dad too.
