A day at the Farm Park

We went to Hatton Farm Park today with my friend Jane and her little boy Joey. It was a gloriously hot day and the week before the schools break up so not too busy so we thought we'd make the most of it!

Tractors were climbed on....

Some construction happened in the sand....

JCBs driven.....

Ladybirds rode on....

Eden didn't last long on this one!

A queue was caused on the rope bridge....

But he made it in the end....

And little boys had good fun!

Perfectly finished off with a chocolate ice-cream!!

Kitchen Part 2

A month and a bit later and we're still going!
The loose floorboards have been a big hit - if you were to ask the boys to sit down and do a jigsaw, it will never happen, but the floorboard jigsaw puzzle they could do all day!

We decided to move the wall between the kitchen and hallway back a few inches to maximise on space, so the old wall was knocked down and a new one put in. This made for a lot of climbing through walls!

The old windows have come out both sides and the wall was opened up for french windows.

The boys still like helping out and their tools are always to hand!

Dan put up plasterboard to prepare for the plasterer and a friend Dean helped support the tricky ceiling boards.

I was finally allowed some input with the wallpaper stripping!

The chimney was timbered up then plasterboarded over - quite a fun puzzle making for Dan!

And today plastering is underway!

It will be interesting to see how it all looks in another month and a half - also whether we can face any more ready meals!!

Fairy Walk

We've just returned from a lovely holiday where  the highlight (well for me anyway!) was the Fairy Walk.
The children started at the 'fairy castle' where they decorated their own fairy wings and wands. They also had their faces painted and even Eden wanted his done too! He was so still - almost falling asleep he enjoyed it so much!

The children were also given a gingerbread man to decorate with sweets and icing - Joplin's didn't last at all long and Eden's didn't even make it to the decoration stage!

We then all set off to look for the fairies! The fairy in charge told us a lovely story about local fairies (plus a Peppa Pig one about the tooth fairy) and then lead us to the fairy houses. We stood in a circle and she asked us to close our eyes. Joplin shut his so so hard and he was actually shaking with excitement! The wonder in his eyes was just so perfect to see, as packets of fairy dust had appeared in the middle of the circle when he opened them. We have to take the dust home to scatter in our garden to encourage fairies to visit - I'm sure we can make them welcome.
